Do I need to file a W-9 Form with SquishyCash?

When you have earned between $400-$500, we will request a W-9 Form. When we have paid you over $600 in cash/prizes, the IRS legally requires us to issue you a 1099-MISC form at the end of the year showing the amount of money you earned at SquishyCash, and a W-9 form needs to be on file for every 1099-MISC we send out. We find it easier to make this request at the $400-$500 earnings mark.

Recent IRS changes to the 1099-MISC requirements exclude electronic payment processors, such as PayPal, from being included on the 1099-MISC form. They have introduced a 1099-K form that the payment processors themselves file.

After you file the W-9 with us, we will review it, and for your privacy we will store it locally in a secure password-protected file folder, and delete it from the SquishyCash system.
